Nick at Nite
Nick at Nite (stylized as nick@nite) is the nighttime block of Nickelodeon that begins at 8:00pm and ends at 7:00am. It launched on July 1, 1985. It replaced the Arts & Entertainment Channel. It mainly focuses on sitcoms for a wider audience, such as The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Friends, as well as the occasional airing of Nickelodeon and Paramount movies. While Nickelodeon is known for its children's shows during the day, Nick@Nite appeals to adult audiences.
SpongeBob SquarePants first aired on Nick at Nite as a special marathon on November 18, 2004 from 9:00pm to 12:00am, to promote the theatrical release of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.[1] The show was later added to the block's weekday regular schedule on July 16, 2018, airing from 9:00pm to 11:00pm. Since November 3, 2018, the show airs on the block from 6:00am to 7:00am on weekends. On May 5, 2019, the show was moved from 9:00pm to 6:30am on weekdays, a half-hour before the end of the block.
Starting on April 10, 2025, Nickelodeon silently removed seasons 1 to 5 from its regular schedule, with the aforementioned seasons only airing on the main Nickelodeon block for special occasions. Despite this, the aforementioned seasons continue to air on Nick at Nite and Nicktoons.
