Character

The sea leprechaun is a type of creature that appears in Bikini Bottom fairy tales. They appear in the episodes "Grandma's Kisses," "Welcome to the Chum Bucket," and "Pranks a Lot," as well as in the book Who's Hungry?.

Description

Sea leprechauns are light brownish-green sea creatures with fish-like fins, a tail, and scales. Their faces are humanoid with pointed ears, a long nose, and a red-brown beard. They wear green hats. "Pranks a Lot" implies that they are small enough to be kept in bottles.

Role in series

"Grandma's Kisses"

A sea leprechaun is the subject of a storybook that Grandma SquarePants often reads to SpongeBob. When SpongeBob tries to look grown up in front of his grandma, she reads the story to Patrick instead, calling it a "wonderful story about a magical sea leprechaun."

"Welcome to the Chum Bucket"

The same sea leprechaun reappears on the cover of the book. Plankton reads the story to SpongeBob, who falls asleep. Plankton mentions "the littlest sea elf."

"Pranks a Lot"

A dried-up sea leprechaun is one of Mr. Krabs' ghost self-defense items. He holds up a bottle with a small green hat, a miniature cane, and the dried-up remains of the sea leprechaun in it.
