Patrick and Gunther.

It's Patrick's birthday, and all the campers give him food as presents. SpongeBob and Sandy, however, give him a certificate for adopting a baby star in space. Patrick is disappointed by the present and goes back to bed, until the star crashes down in front of the cabin, and Patrick realizes how cute it is. He names the star Gunther, puts it in a baby carrier, and takes it around camp.

Patrick goes to Larry and shows Gunther to him, and they are invited to his sauna session. Gunther heats up the room and shines too brightly, shrinking everyone inside. Next, Patrick goes to the Yacht cabin, where Gunther eats a piece of coal from Regigilled's barbecue and starts pooping out diamonds. When they try to buy him with gold bars, Gunther eats all of them and spits out gold dust onto all of them, making them cough.

Gunther passes by Pearl and wants to play with her, so SpongeBob and Sandy convince Patrick to let him. Gunther burns Pearl's toys and Krabs' money, where Krabs demands that Gunther leave. Patrick is reluctant to give him up, but when Gunther runs away and burns down Plankton's canteen, Sandy and SpongeBob agree it might be for the best.

Gunther's parents take him back home.

To get Gunther back into orbit, Sandy ties him to balloons and lets him go, but a seagull pops them and sends him back down. Next, they slingshot him into space, but he rebounds from Saturn and crashes into the outhouse. Finally, Sandy gets the idea to send a letter to Gunther's real parents, who come to pick him up. Patrick says goodbye to Gunther, who leaves him a diaper full of diamonds. Patrick gives it to Krabs, who ignores the camp's burning to admire the diamonds.
