Squidward's records are a collection of phonograph records that Squidward plays on various record players at his house in several episodes, starting with "Nature Pants" ("Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost" by production order).

Description

Squidward appears to have collected at least forty-seven records.[2] They include some smooth-jazz records[3] and recordings of classical music composed by Codwig Amadeus Klarinetsky.[2] Three records have the at-least-partial titles Sole Jazz,[4] Concert,[2] and Opus 14⅔.[2] The records contain at least thirteen different tracks:

Role in series

"Nature Pants"

Squidward listens to "Jungle Baby" while partying.

"Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost"

At bathtime, Squidward listens to "Bossa Cubana," during which he fails to recognize the sounds of SpongeBob and Patrick messing with his wax sculpture.

"Christmas Who?"

Squidward listens to "Squids Clarinet," seeming to play it live on his clarinet until SpongeBob interrupts him.

"Jellyfish Hunter"

At the Krusty Krab, Fred's "Hey All You People" performance leads to Mr. Krabs agitatedly asking SpongeBob the question of who's playing Squidward's records again.

"Slimy Dancing"

Squidward and SpongeBob listen to "Palm Limbo II" so that SpongeBob can demonstrate his dancing for Squidward to coach.

"I ♥ Dancing"

Squidward's attempts to tire SpongeBob out with dance lessons include listening to "The Nutcracker: Waltz of the Flowers" for their ribbon dances and listening to "Gala Premiere" for Squidward's cane dance.

"Enchanted Tiki Dreams"

When Squidward is contemplating his upcoming evening, one of the possibilities he imagines is dancing to some smooth jazz records, including "Squanny Smooth Jazz."

"Squiditis"

Squidward listens to "Latin Lounging" while enjoying the great outdoors from his front yard.

"Little Yellow Book"

SpongeBob's work diary flashback includes Gary having taken a bite from Squidward's Sole Jazz record.

"Sold!"

Squidward listens to "Elegance [#25]" while reading Everybody Aplomb Now.

"Scavenger Pants"

Squidward listens to "Nutcracker-Dance of the Reed Flutes" while dancing, but SpongeBob interrupts and Patrick replaces it with an Unknown Track.

"Ink Lemonade"

Squidward listens to "Aphroditie Glamour" and subsequently to "Ladies' Choice," but Mildred scratches the latter record.

Role in books

The Song That Never Ends

When Squidward is cleaning out his closet, a record with a piece missing is one of the things he throws away in a trash can.
