Thursday Night Gambling

Thursday Night Gambling is a game played by Mr. Krabs and Plankton. It appears in the episode "Welcome to the Chum Bucket" and the book Who's Hungry?.

Role in episode

Mr. Krabs reveals to SpongeBob that every Thursday night, he gambles with Plankton at the Chum Bucket. SpongeBob is shocked until Mr. Krabs tells him Plankton is a terrible card game player. The next day, however, Mr. Krabs reveals to SpongeBob that he lost (though Plankton later admitted that he cheated) and that since he bet SpongeBob's contract, he would have to give up SpongeBob to Plankton.

Shortly afterwards, Plankton reveals he was secretly throwing the games on purpose to get Mr. Krabs to bet SpongeBob's contract. However, SpongeBob soon drives Plankton crazy and he admits to cheating during the game and begs Mr. Krabs to take him back, who agrees to do so in exchange for 50 bucks.
