Transylvanian sniff-sniffs

The Transylvanian sniff-sniffs are allergies Nosferatu gets in the episode "Slappy Daze."

Signs and symptoms

The symptoms resemble any allergies as it causes a runny nose and sneezing. However, it differs in that only vampires can catch the disease, and it comes with a specific sneezing that results in the patient transforming from their human form to bat form and back with each sneeze.

Cause

As Transylvanian sniff-sniffs are allergies, they are caused by allergens, just like any other allergy.

Treatment

Treatment involves steaming the disease out of the nostrils using a steaming iron. Additionally, the patient should apply nasal drops twice a night for quicker relief from the allergy.

Role in episode

Slappy notices that Nosferatu is suffering from the allergies, after serving him a glass of blood. When Nosferatu sneezes, he transforms from his human form to bat form, so Slappy puts him in a cage and sets off with him on his bicycle. Along the way, Nosferatu sneezes, transforming between his forms each time until they reach Dr. Calimari's Physician. Slappy tells Dr. Calimari that Nosferatu caught the Transylvanian sniff-sniffs. The doctor assures Slappy that he will cure the allergies by steaming it out of his nose and asks him to come back in two hours. After Slappy leaves, Nosferatu sneezes and hypnotizes Dr. Calimari to bring him blood samples and cookies.

Slappy returns for Nosferatu, who stops hypnotizing the doctor. Dr. Calimari states that Nosferatu is cured, but he needs nasal drops twice every night.
