Cause
It is caused by getting covered in trash. It is currently unknown what cures it.
Role in episode
The health inspector comes by during the night and reveals that he had made a mistake and that no one was actually sick. He then sees Mrs. Puff who is afflicted with Trash Trichinosis, along with Squidward, SpongeBob, Patrick, Pearl and Mr. Krabs who are infected with other diseases.
