I am frequently active user throughout the week. I am a sysop here. I've been a fan of SpongeBob since 2006. I've stumbled upon this very wiki creation back in 2010 when I was searching for images on the episode, "SB-129."
I saw many errors on many of the articles at that time. I tried fixing them by editing under an IP address. However, editing on ip doesn't give you the full benefits of you having an account, such as uploading images. Wikia also disabled the anon-editing feature soon after to be in accordance with their TOU & law of COPPA.
I first created my account under the name "ExplodingSoda" nearly two years later on November 16, 2011 and made my first edit three days later. I was inexperienced at the time. I had some knowledge on wikitext and source editor, but I mainly focused on reverting vandalism, checking edits, reporting users, creating new pages and fixing page errors.
As well as that, I did some template and design work and collaborated at times with administrator AW10 at the time. I was granted sysop rights on January 17, 2012 which enabled me to help the current administration and crew sustain the wiki. I most notably introduced the theme and color scheme for the infoboxes and the wiki.
After losing interest, I abandoned the account to focus on other things. Especially as the community wasn't developed enough yet and I didn't have the time nor motivation to help it grow. I did make a few chat visits in 2013 and 2014 but didn't stay for too long. I do remember attending a "chat party" event at the time in which it consisted 50 people in chat at once. So much, screen lagged often.
I also made an appearance one day in August, 2014 where I witnessed arguing between this community and the SpongeBob Galaxy Wiki. I had no insight on SpongeBob Galaxy until 2017, so I just stayed out of it.
I joined this wiki in 2015 on this account. Unaware of the new policies, editing guidelines and the lot, I was really confused on what to edit and how to do it in accordance with the wiki structure. And so I left but contributed on some other wikis in 2015, 2016 and 2017 before making a return on July 21, 2017.
If I remember correctly, I made another appearance in the chat around then. But I didn't stay for long as the conversation didn't interest me. Well, the chat was quite full in comparison to nowadays, but I had barely known anyone there. It was mainly just a quick visit too.
I officially returned therefore on August 1, 2017. I entered chat, which was active, and met the people there. I was expecting AW10 to be retired by then but he was still an admin at the time. I tried making productive edits, as well as contribute.
It took me a week or two to grasp the new formatting etc but I eventually got the hang of it. I have strived to help make ESB more modern and move with the flow. Some areas could be advanced. I've made cleanups and expansions. I specialize in in basic wiki structure and fundamental guidelines and templates for a wiki to run smoothly. I've developed these important skills on other wikis. But I assist the ESB community and do my best to help develop it into something better.
Aside from ESB: I help revert cross-wiki spam and vandalism via monitoring the IRC channels of the Counter-Vandalism Network (CVN). I have also gotten accepted as part of the Community Council since November 26, 2018.
I buzz around Community Central to answer questions, view concerns, and provide positive interaction to the atmosphere. Thanks and see you around!
