Chum Bucket Supreme
This episode has a lot of good jokes, and they're what keeps it with a high rating. Chum is Fum is just amusing in it of itself, and stuff like Patrick's brain and the "potty has a shocky thing in it" joke were super funny. Also seeing Plankton have some success was nice. Overall this isn't an episode that has much to talk about aside from jokes since I don't wanna just be here listing jokes I liked. This was a hilarious episode.
Single Cell Anniversary
This episode is pretty good. I don't adore it or anything but SpongeBob and Plankton have good chemistry in this episode and the Oh My Karen song was fun. There are also some good jokes like SpongeBob unplugging the coffee maker and "Your wife exploded!" While it wasn't the best episode I definitely enjoyed it.
Truth or Square
I think it's about time that I write this review. A review of what I think of as the most overhated episode of all of SpongeBob. And I have my reasoning. I'll also be reviewing the hour-long cut, the one you see on the season 6 DVD. First off, the Patchy segments of this episode are mixed, and the only reason this episode didn't receive a higher rating. So, the way they start off is not the best. There's a lot of dumb jokes, shoehorned-in celebrities, bad filming, but they're not horrible. I can kinda see what they were trying to do and I really like it ironically, but it's not the same kinda thing I'm used to from Patchy and it seems off. However, these Patchy segments actually improve. Seeing Patchy believe in SpongeBob and the camera crew's strange reaction to him was pretty funny, and We've Got Scurvy was a pretty good song. Patchy's little program inside of the whale's belly was also super funny, it was cheesy and entertaining and a lot better than if they just made a real documentary and threw it in there. And I love the new theme songs. I would say more but, these honestly end kinda abruptly.
Now let's talk about the SpongeBob segments of this episode. These are honestly awesome. If you strip away the songs and flashbacks it's a pretty boring episode with no real conflict as they could get out of the vent anytime (another reason this is definitely not Marvelous). However they add songs and interesting sequences to make this a lot more entertaining. A Day Like This is one of the show's all time best songs, and it has fantastic visuals to go with it. It's catchy and fun and absolutely great as an opening number. The montage of decorating is great and fun. Things like the old commercial are just blessed, and the flashbacks take what would otherwise be some repetitive scenes and do funny jokes with it, like the decorating flashback sequence or the launches are really creative. Scenes like the "wedding" or SpongeBob's first Krabby Patty were amusing too. And even outside of these scenes there are a lot of funny jokes, like the diploma line or SpongeBob's lederhosen.
Now this episode isn't the best. It has its fair share of problems, but I honestly enjoyed it for what it is, whether it be ironic enjoyment in some parts or most of the time where it was completely unironically. This special is a super underrated one and one of the series' best of its rating.
