The canned laughter is a sentient can of laughter that appears in The Patrick Star Show episode "Pat-a-thon."
Description
It is a red can that when open would become sentient and start laughing. When it becomes stale however, the laugh is much more weaker.
Role in episode
After Patrick makes a joke about sea snails, Squidina attempts to open the canned laughter. However, the canned laughter is stuck and is hard to open. When Squidina finally opens the canned laughter, it makes a monotone and weak laugh before passing out. Squidina then throws the canned laughter away, saying that it has gotten stale.
Trivia
- Its name is likely based on the canned laughter that is used in sitcoms.
- The canned laughter was also mentioned in the fake credits for the "Cooking with Patrick" segment in "Late for Breakfast."
