The beard is a sea urchin who appears in the episodes "Squidward's School for Grown-Ups" and "Home Sweet Rubble."

He is much larger and hairier than an ordinary sea urchin. He is brown and wears a green bow tie.

When Template:Data:Links wakes up after taking a nap at his rock, he suddenly realizes that he has a beard. Template:Data:Links notices the beard and tries to teach Patrick how to be mature. Later in the episode, Template:Data:Links, Patrick, and Squidward visit the Opera House. SpongeBob pretends to be an opera singer and Patrick starts crying during his performance. While Patrick is crying, it is revealed that the beard is actually a sea urchin and he runs away from Patrick.
