Template:Incomplete Template:Channel Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited (or Channel 5 for short) is a UK free-to-air broadcasting service owned by Paramount Global's UK and Australia division. So far as of January 31, 2015, Channel 5 has aired SpongeBob SquarePants on weekends every morning.

Trivia

  • Even though SpongeBob regularly airs on weekends, it gets replaced sometimes. Throughout 2016-2019, the show was replaced by The Fairly OddParents and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 2012 reboot and the Rise 2018 one). And a few times in 2022 and 2023, SpongeBob gets replaced by The Smurfs (2021 reboot) sometimes, and a repeat of the 2012 reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on June-August 2023.
  • As of September 2025, Channel 5 is currently airing season 12, with reruns of the first half as of November 16, 2024.
  • The time the show starts has changed many times before March 2024.
    • The first time the show started airing on Channel 5, it was airing at 10:00am and it remained that way until The Smurfs came along.
    • On July 9, 2022, SpongeBob aired at 10:10am instead.
    • On May 6, 2023, to honor for King Charles III's coronation, Channel 5 aired "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout" at 11:25am until 12:15pm.
    • As of October 2023, SpongeBob and The Smurfs aired a little earlier, with them airing 5 minutes earlier from 10am.
    • On January 12, 2024, The Smurfs finished and SpongeBob was still airing, but the latter aired at 9:50am.
    • As of March 2024, SpongeBob now airs at 8:50am, however when season 12 came on Template:August 24, 2024, the show now airs at 8:55am, and it appears to now air from 9am as well at random airdates.
  • SpongeBob also aired on Channel 5's sister channel 5Star with seasons 4 and 5, and they are yet to be completed.
    • Season 7 is also yet to be completed as well, but on the main channel.
