Picture it! is the first comic in SpongeBob Comics No. 2.

Synopsis

At Mrs. Puff's Boating School, SpongeBob is practicing for his boating exam and once again crashes. SpongeBob realizes that he will not be able to pass it, which means he will have to come to boating school the next year. Mrs. Puff realizes that she will be stuck with SpongeBob and screams in horror, before stating that there has to be a way for SpongeBob to remember to step on the brake, turn the key, put the car in drive, and press the gas.

SpongeBob says that it sounds so simple when she says it. Mrs. Puff says that it is, and tells SpongeBob to remember to "Brake," "Key," "Drive," and "Gas" by picturing it. SpongeBob tries to do it and he succeeds. SpongeBob leaves and Mrs. Puff tells SpongeBob to continue to picture it, so that he can pass it. When SpongeBob is gone, Mrs. Puff is relieved that she will never have to drive with SpongeBob after the test.

That night at SpongeBob's house, SpongeBob says that he will watch the pictures in his head all night to remember. Gary meows and SpongeBob agrees that it is kind of like a TV. SpongeBob then goes to sleep and dreams of himself watching a giant TV with four images: His leg pushing the brake pedal, a key, his hand putting the shift in drive, and his leg pushing the drive pedal.

Dream SpongeBob repeats "Brake, Key, Drive, Gas" until he gets bored and changes the channel, and the other channels' content rhymes with the "brake, key, drive, gas" motto that Mrs. Puff told him. Dream SpongeBob laughs and continues to watch TV as the real SpongeBob mutters the rhyming words in his sleep.

The next morning, SpongeBob arrives at Mrs. Puff's Boating School as Mrs. Puff asks him if he has been picturing his driving test. SpongeBob says that he has, and it is revealed that SpongeBob is sleep-deprived from the TV he watched in his dream. He then states the motto as "cake, tree, dive, trash," and Mrs. Puff becomes concerned and tells SpongeBob that the motto is "brake, key, drive, gas."

SpongeBob's mind is scrambled from the rhyming words in his dream and cannot remember the motto, but suddenly states that he remembers. He starts by shaking, followed by speeding around the track, then sliding around before he crashes into the lighthouse, which falls down and destroys the boating school. As SpongeBob asks if he passed, Mrs. Puff realizes that he will never pass his driving test, and that she is stuck with him forever.
