Rock monster
The rock monster[1], originally known as the sea monster, is a creature that lives in Jelly Meadows in Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years. It first appears in the episode "The Jellyfish Kid" and serves as an antagonist in said episode.
Description
The rock monster is a dark gray, quadrupedal monster whose main body is shaped like a boulder, allowing it to blend in with clusters of boulders. Its face has a single eye with an orange sclera and green iris and a pair of pink lips containing sharp teeth. At the peak of its boulder-like body rests a patch of grass with a sea anemone and lure-like structure on it. It has a mermaid-like tail.
Role in series
"The Jellyfish Kid"
After the line on Sandy's fishing rod breaks, Squidward falls on various rocks and the sea anemone and lure resting on the top of the creature. When SpongeBob, mistaking the injured Squidward for a jellyfish, tries to catch him using his net, the monster awakens and roars at him and Patrick before proceeding to eat Squidward and run off. SpongeBob attempts to stop the creature by using his net on the top of its body, which fails to stop it and leaves SpongeBob struggling to hang on.
It charges through Kamp Koral and proceeds to wreak various kinds of havoc, such as leaping and landing on campers in the middle of painting, much to the shock of Mrs. Puff, and ruining Larry's push-up exercise by running through the campers on top of him and crushing him in the process. The monster eventually stops and, when asked to release Squidward, eats SpongeBob.
Inside the monster's stomach, SpongeBob blows a massive bubble with his net, expanding the monster into a sphere right before it eats Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff. The bubble eventually expands enough to escape the monster's mouth and send it falling to the ground in a partially-deflated state, freeing SpongeBob and Squidward in the process. The monster then blows on its thumb to pop back to its original state before being offered some of Plankton's slop by Sandy, which repulses it and causes it to run off.

Trivia
- Concept art for the rock monster showed that it originally looked very different to the final design. The original design of the creature was bipedal and hairy and had two differently-sized arms with sharp fingernails, a forked tongue, two-toed feet with sharp, curved claws, and a differently-designed head bulb.
