Character

Template:Classification The Chimpanzees, or "Chimps" for short, is the subtribe/genus that Professor Percy, Dr. Marmalade, and Lord Reginald are part of.

As revealed in "Chimps Ahoy," their role is to evaluate the work of scientists in order to continue funding scientists' further work. If a negative evaluation is given, funding may be ceased.

Characters

Description

They each wear suits, ties, and hats and have strong British accents. They are mostly humanoid, except for their faces. Although highly intelligent, they share the same strong desire for bananas that is typically associated with monkeys, hence why they are so delighted by Sandy's banana peeler invention.

Diet

Their only known diet is bananas and the occasional pudding.

Trivia

They also appear in the original airing of the episode "Shanghaied," which is also available on The First 100 Episodes DVD box set.

In the closing credits to "Chimps Ahoy," Christopher Ryan, who played Professor Percy, is uncredited.

-The Chimpanzees are first seen right after Sandy left thinking her inventions wouldn't impress them. They then spot [[SpongeBob SquarePants (character)|SpongeBob]] and [[Patrick Star|Patrick]] (who was posing under the nickname "Mr. Dr. Professor Patrick") and asked SpongeBob and Patrick to show some of Sandy's inventions. SpongeBob and Patrick then showed the Chimpanzees the [[Automatic Back Scratcher, Hair Comber, Nose Picker, Ukulele Tuner 9000|Automatic Back Scratcher, Hair Comber, Nose Picker, Ukulele Tuner 9000&nbsp;as]] one of Sandy's "inventions". Lord Reginald was then force to test it and, at first, enjoyed the machine but it soon malfunctioned and ended up hurting Lord Reginald. Sandy then suddenly appears asking what SpongeBob is doing, and Professor Percy tells the group that they are leaving. Dr. Marmalade is about to eat a banana when one of Sandy's robots peels the banana. The Chimpanzees are excited with Professor Percy telling Sandy he expects more great things from her and Lord Reginald extends her contract. The Chimpanzees then leave Sandy's Treedome.
