If you don't already own the first 100 episodes, I'd highly suggest picking this set up. The discounted price, if nothing else, should appeal to fans who've yet to purchase the first five seasons."[11]

The version of "Rock Bottom" where SpongeBob's mouth doesn't move when he says, "Another fun-tastic day at Glove World!" is fixed on this DVD.
File:Yikes Matey.PNG"Yikes Matey! Original 800 Number As Aired Has Been Retired to Davey Jones' Locker!"
The voting segments from the original first airing of "Shanghaied" are featured on this DVD box set, along with the alternative endings.
However, the original title card bearing the phone number to call and vote now reads "Yikes matey! Original 800 number as aired has been retired to Davy Jones' locker!" Also, the title card font and color are completely different between the two versions.
The uncut version of "Procrastination" is included on disc 5.
Disc 5 has the shortest end credits sequence out of all the discs, with 5 minutes and 32 seconds.
"Goo Goo Gas" premiered on American television on July 19, 2009, making it the only episode on the entire box set that premiered on American TV that year, while all the other episodes premiered on American television between the years of 1999 - 2008. Even its sister episode, "Le Big Switch," premiered on September 29, 2007.
Disc 14 contains all three specials and a music video.
Some discs such as discs 2 and 6 and discs 11 and 14 have very similar menu designs.
This is the first SpongeBob SquarePants DVD box set to use the 2009 Nickelodeon logo. However, this DVD box set was released on September 22, 2009, and the network itself did not start officially using the logo until September 28.
Despite the box using the 2009 logo, the 1984 Nickelodeon Splat logo is used on the DVD menus.
This is the second SpongeBob DVD for two things:
The second SpongeBob DVD to have disc 1 contain episodes 1-8, with the addition of "Help Wanted" being included at the start on this release.
The second SpongeBob DVD to have disc 2 contain episodes 9-16.
Both The Complete 1st Season disc 2 and The First 100 Episodes disc 2 contain the exact same episodes.
There are some changes between the original release and the re-releases.
Inside the disc cases of the 2009 release, it lists the episode descriptions and the original airdates.
The 2009 release of this DVD set had two separate discs in cases.
The 2017 re-release had all 14 discs held in one case in 4 double-sided "EPIK PAK" DVD holders, the content and design on each disc is unchanged.
The 2020 release has two cases (each about 2/3 the size of the 2017 case) housed in a slipcover, with each case holding seven discs. The slipcover and the two cases all use the same artwork as the first two releases.
On June 4, 2019, a sequel to this DVD box set was released, titled The Next 100 Episodes, which contains all of the episodes from seasons 6-9.
On July 15, 2019 (on Amazon.com) and August 27, 2019 (in stores), this DVD box set and The Next 100 Episodes were released together in a bundle called The Best 200 Episodes Ever.
On October 15, 2024, another sequel to this DVD box set was released, titled Another 100 Episodes, which contains all of the episodes from seasons 10-14.
On the same day, this DVD box set, The Next 100 Episodes, and Another 100 Episodes were released together in a bundle called The Best 300 Episodes Ever.
The Walmart website once said that this DVD is rated R despite SpongeBob SquarePants DVDs not being rated in the United States and SpongeBob SquarePants being a children's series.
This DVD (2009 release) has some of the airdate listings messed up (particularly with the seasons 1 and 2 episodes). Here's a complete rundown of the episodes that are listed with a false airdate:
"Gary Takes a Bath" DVD airdate listing: Saturday, July 26, 2003 (technically correct if referring to when the episode first aired on the main Nickelodeon USA channel)
In all Nickelodeon USA, Nicktoons USA, Nick@Nite, UK airings[24] of the episode "Something Smells" along with the iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, and Paramount+ digital versions, SpongeBob walks up to a building and says, "Hi, building!" which causes the building to flee from SpongeBob's breath. He goes up to Patrick and says, "I just don't get it!" and Patrick says, "I don't either."
SpongeBob: [walks up to a building and waves] I just don't get it! [the building flees]
Patrick: [off-screen] I don't, either. [SpongeBob walks up to Patrick; the rest of the scene goes as normal, resulting in the same lines being repeated]. According to the audio commentary on The Complete 2nd Season DVD, this was a sound mixing error. The music also repeats itself incorrectly at that point. It is made obvious since SpongeBob's mouth still clearly says the intended line. The closed-captioning on this DVD matches the incorrect audio.
The disc 3 episode description of "Bubble Buddy" states, "With Patrick out of town..." However, in the episode, Patrick's note just says that he has gone to get more giant paper. It also does not mention that SpongeBob went to check on Squidward and Sandy too.
In "I'm with Stupid," when Patrick says, "You should see him in the morning prancing around yelling 'I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready!'," the closed-captions read, "You should see him in the morning prancing around yelling Harmony! Harmony! Harmony!"
In the 2017 re-release of the DVD set, "Funny Pants" is misspelled as "Funny Pantss."
"New Leaf" is listed as "The New Leaf" on the episode selection screen and episode listing for disc 10. It was called "The New Leaf" during the Best Day Ever marathon, the closing credits, the Nickelodeon schedule, and the unused title card.
The disc 10 episode description of "Best Frenemies" reads, "Mr. Krabs reveals that he and Plankton were once the best of friends." However, this description actually refers to "Friend or Foe." Interestingly, the description for "Friend or Foe" is different from that of "Best Frenemies," which reads, "It's the history of the Krabs/Plankton rivalry! With a special appearance by Patchy!"
In "Fungus Among Us," when SpongeBob says, "Gary the Snail," the closed-captioning incorrectly refers to his name as "Gary D. Snail."
There are three errors made with episode production numbers on this DVD. "Squid on Strike" is labeled episode 40b instead of 40a, "Just One Bite" is labeled 43b instead of 43a, and "Ghost Host" is labeled 70a instead of 70b.
"Patrick! You're spraying the camera with Cheese Fizz!"
