Trivia

General

  • This episode's packaging number was originally going to be 276a, but it ended up getting changed to 277a and switched with "Patrick the Mailman."
    • Additionally, this episode ended up being paired with "Plane to Sea."
  • This is the first episode Richard Pursel wrote since "House Worming" in season 10.
  • This is the first time a video game character, in this case Prawn, appears in the series proper.
  • This is the first physical appearance of Dennis in the series; he previously appeared in a wanted poster in "Call the Cops."
    • This is also the first time he is seen interacting with Plankton, as the two were never seen on-screen together in the first movie, despite being hired by him.
      • The boat jacker from the same movie also makes his first in-series appearance, albeit with a green jacket instead of his dark blue from the movie.
  • The Earworm from the episode of the same name reappears in this episode. However, it appears to be larger than it was in its episode.
  • Madame Hagfish reappears in this episode in the main series for the first time since "The Curse of the Hex" in season 7.
