Irony: Mr. Krabs should have told SpongeBob to get back to work instead of telling the story if he thought his laughing is the sound of his money being flushed down the toilet. Squidward should have heeded SpongeBob's warnings, so he wouldn't be infected.
The face that SpongeBob makes looks similar to SpongeSnail from the episode "I Was a Teenage Gary."
Also, Mr. Krabs' demonic face makes him vaguely resemble one of the faces that he makes when he says "More" in the episode "Jellyfish Hunter."
SpongeBob and Patrick do not get Face Freeze until after 12 hours while Squidward and Mr. Krabs get it after a few seconds and Fred received his after 444 times.
This is the first episode in which SpongeBob takes advantage of Mr. Krabs' overwhelming greed, which is demonstrated when he says, "Oh look, someone somewhere just dropped a penny" to buy him some time.
This episode marks the second time SpongeBob and Patrick go camping outside. The first is "The Camping Episode."
Karma: Mr. Krabs is angry that SpongeBob and Patrick keep making faces and ends up getting the face freeze himself. Squidward laughs at everybody's frozen faces and the same thing happens to him instantly.

This episode's conflict and karma is similar to that of "Hooky," where despite being warned by Mr. Krabs of an action, SpongeBob and Patrick still do it and it leads to a "punishment."
SpongeBob performs a bunch of facial expressions that would require face muscles and bones, even though he is an invertebrate.
Errors
When the camera pans to Mr. Krabs' office, the register and window are missing.
When SpongeBob gives the customer his food, his lips are not on the tray. In the next shot, they are.
When SpongeBob gives the customer his Krabby Patty, his Krusty Krab employee hat is there, but in the next shot, it is gone. Then it reappears in the next shot.
Normally, Fred's lips are same color as his skin, but in this episode, they are the same color as his limbs and dorsal fin.
