Character

The Catfishstress is a supervillain who appears throughout the SpongeBob Comics series, starting with the comic The Claws of the Catfishstress! She wears a catfish mask. She is in love with Mermaid Man, and her goal is to capture him so that they can become a romantic couple.

Description

She is a human with black hair and a mustache. She usually covers her face with a yellow catfish mask. She wears a purple costume with an orange leopard print pattern on the collar, belt, and sleeves. She has red lips and does not have any superpowers, but she uses a magic whip as a weapon to attack and tie up superheroes.

Role in comics

The Claws of the Catfishstress!

The Catfishstress is the main antagonist of the comic. She kidnaps Mermaid Man and ties him to a pole in her lair. She wants to have him for herself, and Mermaid Man's inner thoughts reveal that he has romantic feelings for her as well. However, Barnacle Boy stops the Catfishstress before he can tell her. He breaks Mermaid Man free and ties the Catfishstress in her whip. She tries to convince Mermaid Man to stay with her and help her leave her life of crime for good, but Barnacle Boy insists that she needs to serve jail time for kidnapping.

He unmasks her and finds out that her mustache is real, not part of her costume.
