- This is the third season 12 episode shorter than its usual 11-minute runtime. The first is "One Trick Sponge" and the second is "Breakin'."
- This is also the third season finale episode in a row to be shorter than 11 minutes. The first was "Don't Wake Patrick" and the second was "The String."
- This episode and "Krusty Koncessionaires" tie into each other.[2]
- This is the second pair of episodes to be tied into each other. The first was "Swamp Mates" and "One Trick Sponge."
- The episode's plot is similar to "Sleepy Time," as both involve SpongeBob exploring other people's dreams.
- Among many flashing images on the TV in SpongeBob's dream, an image of SpongeBoy is visible for a split-second.
- Octopi from Squidward's Bold and Brash painting and the Squidward sculpture from "Are You Happy Now?" are seen alive in his dream.
