"Botany Bay" is a traditional sea shanty performed by Robert Alexander White. There are 4 different variations of this soundtrack; two being used in the show (Botany Bay (A) and Botany Bay (d) were never used).
Usage
Botany Bay (b)
This is the "sad" version of the song. At around 21 BPM, this is one of the slowest songs in the series.

- 55b. "Mid-Life Crustacean" - Mr. Krabs watches a kid throw out a Krabby Patty because it is too old.
- 63. "Have You Seen This Snail?" - The next morning at the Krusty Krab.
- 67b. "Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy VI: The Motion Picture" - Mr. Krabs weeps.
- 70b. "Ghost Host" - The Flying Dutchman sadly decides that he must quit scaring people after SpongeBob gets bored by his tricks.
- 81. "Friend or Foe" - Patchy cries because he misses Potty.
- 98. "What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?" - Patrick, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs apologize to SpongeBob for calling him "Idiot Boy" and running him out of town.
- 100a. "Banned in Bikini Bottom" - "It's no use. I'M RUINED!!!"
- 102a. "Penny Foolish" - Mr. Krabs apologizes to SpongeBob.
- 109b. "The Krabby Kronicle" - SpongeBob sadly talks to Mr. Krabs.

This version is a "happier" version of the song. This version plays at 101 BPM.

Trivia
- "Ripped Pants," "Naughty Nautical Neighbors," "Boating School," "Nature Pants," "Ghost Host" and "Friend or Foe" are the only episodes to play "Botany Bay (b)" in scenes that don't have to do with Mr. Krabs or the Krusty Krab.
- This track has slowed down in usage since Season 5. Starting with "Grandpappy the Pirate," "Botany Bay (b)" has been replaced with "Sad Sack Shanty."
- "Arrgh!," "Jellyfish Hunter," and "Funny Pants" are the only episodes to play "Botany Bay (c)."
