SpongeBob delivers a Krabby Patty.

The episode starts with SpongeBob delivering a Krabby Patty meal to the boss at an office. However, he accidentally drops the meal and makes a mess. Despite the boss telling him it is fine, SpongeBob vows to clean the mess at night.

SpongeBob brings Patrick along to help, and the two start cleaning the office, unaware that a trash bot is also cleaning the office. After accidentally toppling all the cubicles, the two put them back up, but accidentally get themselves lost within it. Eventually, they meet the trash bot, who tries to put Patrick inside of it as he ate a candy wrapper.

Eventually, SpongeBob gets a hold of the trash bot and locks him inside a broom closet so they can clean the office in peace. SpongeBob and Patrick finally reach the original chocolate milk stain the former made and try to clean it using their tongues. However, the trash bot escapes the broom closet and starts getting other machines in the office to attack SpongeBob and Patrick.

The machines start attacking the two and the walls of the office start falling apart. However, when SpongeBob and Patrick realize the company makes tanks, they utilize one of their tanks to defeat all the machines. Eventually, the trash bot surrenders, and the episode ends with SpongeBob and Patrick leaving the office in a wrecked state.

Trivia

General

File:Clean'LivinNickcom.PNG
"Clean Livin'."
File:Krusty Kleaners 001.png
The red version with a metal wheel.
  • In this episode, SpongeBob's unicycle has a metal wheel with a tire instead of its usual paddle wheel. It also has a brown seat instead of a black seat.
  • In Channel 5 airings in the UK and Ireland, two scenes were edited: firstly, the scene where SpongeBob nearly drops the Krusty Krab delivery bag, but then catches it, was edited to darken the screen (it was unedited in Nicktoons UK airings), and secondly, the scene where SpongeBob stabs himself with his spatula was edited to remove a sword sound effect when the action happens.[3]
  • This marks the first appearance of a reef blower since "Squidville."
    • This is also the first episode to feature a reef blower, but not play the track "War Blower."
  • This episode was paired up with "Burst Your Bubble" during the SpongeBob Code-Catcher Challenge marathon.
  • This episode saw the return of the track Menace from the Deep, which was previously a season 1-exclusive track.

Dub facts

  • In Latin America, this episode is called "Limpieza Don Cangrejo," which translates to "Cleaning Mr. Krabs," even though Mr. Krabs does not appear in the episode, likely a translation error.

Cultural references

File:Krusty Kleaners 083.png
Pac-Man reference.
  • The scene where SpongeBob and Patrick are trying to find a way out of the maze references the video game Pac-Man.

Errors

File:Krusty Kleaners 050.png
Patrick without eyebrows.
  • When SpongeBob and Patrick ride into the elevator, Patrick has no eyebrows.
File:Krusty Kleaners 118.png
The microwave with a white outline on its door.
  • When trash bot attempts to burn Patrick, the microwave oven can be seen mistakenly colored with a white outline on the rim of the door instead of black.
File:Krusty Kleaners 168.png
SpongeBob's visible eyelashes.
  • In one of the pictures of SpongeBob made by the copier, one of his eyes is closed, but his eyelashes are still seen.
  • During the scene when the trash bot and its recruits attack SpongeBob and Patrick, the microwave oven wasn't shown, although it is visible when trash bot recruits it and shown as they move along with others before the cut to SpongeBob and Patrick.
