Queen Amphitrite
Queen Amphitrite is the supreme ruler of the ocean along with her husband King Neptune. She lives along with her husband in a palace on the outskirts of Bikini Bottom.
She appears in the episodes "The Clash of Triton," "Trident Trouble," and "SpongeBob and Patrick's Timeline Twist-Up." She also appears in numerous video games and makes a cameo appearance in Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years.
Description
Queen Amphitrite is a medium-sized light blue mermaid with long, flowing black hair and purple hoop earrings. She has a blue tail fin and a belly button. She also wears a golden crown, a belt, a green bra with light purple clam shells, and two golden clasps on each of her wrists. While she doesn't wear one, her blue tail fin also is shown to resemble a floor-length skirt.
Her first unused design was drawn by Robertryan Cory, and it was slightly different. She had bigger eyes, pointed ears, a different belly button, and just wore clam shells instead of a green bra. In "Trident Trouble," her bigger eyes and ears from her first design are used. Additionally, the episode shows her earrings as purple instead of golden, and she lacks her crown. She has also smaller proportions, and there is no seahorse on her belt. Her color is the same.
Personality
Amphitrite strongly dislikes Mr. Krabs because of his selfish and cheap ways. She disapproves of Neptune always sulking about their son, Triton, not following in his footsteps.
Role in series
SpongeBob SquarePants
"The Clash of Triton"
She is aware that the Krusty Krab is very popular and decides to have the 5,000th birthday party of Neptune there. She calls the restaurant and SpongeBob answers before telling Mr. Krabs, who does not believe it is her and insults her. After he hangs up, Amphitrite responds by appearing at the restaurant and zapping Mr. Krabs while still on the phone, as he realizes it was really her he was talking to and quickly agrees to her request.
She tries all she can to cheer King Neptune up for his birthday. She knows their son, Triton, is very un-kingly and tries to be a normal boy, and that worries her since they are gods. She seems to have a negative attitude towards Mr. Krabs and continually zaps and scolds him.
She appears happy reunited with Triton at the end of Neptune's birthday party. She loves her husband very much. She kindly waves goodbye to the Bikini Bottomites in the end.
"Trident Trouble"
King Neptune tells her a story about him and the Greek god Zeus. She laughs at it but then stops and gasps when she sees two Krakens approach. She digs into the sand and buries herself while Neptune tries to fight them.
