SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is an upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants video game developed by Purple Lamp and published by THQ Nordic. It will be released on November 18, 2025.

The game was officially announced during the THQ Nordic Showcase on August 1, 2025, and is the successor to The Cosmic Shake.

Store description

How do you stop the two biggest egos of the Seven Seas from fighting? A clash between the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune has unleashed ghostly mayhem all over Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob and Patrick will need all their skills, bravery and - dare I say - wit, to return life to what passes for normal in their undersea home. The game will have a collector edition called "Ghostly Edition" which contains a copy of the game, a golden spatula keychain, 5 lenticular cards, a Flying Dutchman sew-on patch, a steelbook, and two DLCs.

The first DLC is the "Tidal Season Pass," which includes two new costume packs, and two Plankton's Portal Challenges. One of the costume pack and Portal Challenge will be based off The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.^[2]

The second DLC is a pre-order bonus called "Natural Costume Pack" which contains two costumes, Butt Flap Bob and Birthday Suit Patrick.

Development

Leaks

On December 21, 2024, various game design documents from the game leaked, including a script and multiple concept art. These also revealed the game's early title, being "Splash of the Titans." It also included early boxart for the PlayStation 5 version of the game. This information was made public on Reddit on December 24, 2024.^[3]
In May 2025, the game was rated in South Korea and Germany, while also revealing the game's final title.^[4]^[5]
On July 25, 2025, French leaker, billbil-kun, reported on Dealabs Magazine that the game will release on November 18, 2025, will also release on Nintendo Switch 2 and will cost 39.99€.^[6]
On July 31, 2025, billbil-kun posted the blurred leaked Nintendo Switch 2 French cover on his Twitter account, indicating that the game will be "Game-Key Card" only.^[7]
On August 1, 2025, the Xbox Store listing for the game went out two hours earlier before the THQ Nordic Showcase.

It was first teased on October 31, 2024, at the end of promotional video for the first two SpongeBob games by THQ Nordic.^[8]^[9]^[10]^[11]^[12]
This is the first SpongeBob SquarePants video game to be released for the Nintendo Switch 2.
This marks the first in-person appearance of David Hasselhoff since the main series episode "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout."
This is Princess Mindy's second appearance in a console video game since The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game, as well as her fifth appearance in the franchise since her in-person cameo in the main series episode "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout" and in SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam! as well as being a unit in SpongeBob Tower Defense.
