The rattlesnakes are a group of serpents who are minor antagonists in the first spin-off movie Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.

Description

The gang consists of five rattlesnakes who live in a desert in Texas and attack their prey with ambush. They are of various types and colors, but each has a pair of big venomous fangs, a rattle at the end of their tail, and each one wears some kind of hat on their head. The brown one is the leader, who has a big black mustache, wears a purple bandana, and a light blue cowboy hat. The yellow snake has a brown hat, which is bent upward at the front, the blue snake named Bonnie has a black hat adorned with a feather, the green snake has a gray hat with a light pink ribbon, and the smallest, the gray one, has a brown bowler hat.

Role in movie

As SpongeBob and Sandy journey through a desert in Texas towards the city of Galveston, the rattlesnakes ambush them. While Sandy beats the snakes, SpongeBob is busy with one, who jumps in his pores and another who grabs him with his tail. When the leader attempts to bite Sandy, she kicks towards its mouth, but the snake poisons her with its fangs. Swollen and dizzy from the snakebite, Sandy can no longer continue the fight, so she calls for help from her family with a whistle. The Cheeks' family show up and use circus acts to attack the rattlesnakes. Eventually, they jump onto a boulder, which they roll over the snakes, causing them to jump out of their skins. Without their skin, the rattlesnakes become naked and timidly flee away.
