The sand army is an army of troops made out of sand that appears in the episode "Sand Castles in the Sand."
Description
The sand army includes four warriors: a knight with a mace, a warrior with a mohawk, a cowboy, a rock star, and a bull.
Function
They are used by SpongeBob as a hit squad against Patrick and his castle.
Role in episode
SpongeBob summons the sand army after destroying Patrick's sand knights using his own catapult. Patrick retreats into his castle. The troops manage to crack the door to Patrick's fortress, but by this time he had already managed to build a cannon, which he uses against SpongeBob's hit squad. The army retreats, and SpongeBob manages to get them safely back inside his own fortress. It is in vain, however, as the cannonball finds its way over the fortress wall and smashes them.
