I did not intend to ruin other people's wikias because I think this site is great but I felt that it needed to be dealt with. I felt that I needed to protest so I did so. Sorry that I cause such annoyance. Thank you for you intervenion. This won't happen again. Ive read your rules now. I now understand that the person who contacted me was not a reprisentative but I didn't know because I was a new user at the time. I am glad it has been sorted but may I suggest that messages passed between users are checked by moderators so no offensive material is passed from user to user. Mostly because the vandalism is deep, very very deep. We have a ton of pages that need to be cleaned but we do not have enough contributors to do so and not enough admin with enough time. So we either find more contributors (which has proven hard), spend every waking minute cleaning up or reset. We also can't patrol everything, so we must have fake articles laying around, attack pages and just random ignorance. So again we'll need more contributors, more admin or a reset. Unless I missed something in the last month and a 1/2 this is still all true. - Rgoodermote  04:39, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Occurrances of vandalism are not as frequent as they used to be. I think that some of the new features that Wikia has come out with, such as the blog, are moving this wiki toward more social discussions, rather than focusing on building the article content. I also think we should be more strict on Fanon. I have noticed that people have uploaded Fan-made stuff and put it on their Userpage. I think that ANY fan-made content should not be here, but go to the SpongeBob Fanon Wiki - that's what it's for. The removal of User page Fanon has not yet been enforced, but I think we should focus only on Non-Fanon stuff, including user pages. I also believe that more administrators are needed, such as two. I already reopened the RFA, but no one has come forward to request sysop powers, most likely due to the fact that the page is "hidden." I am going to update the site notice to warn Users that their Fanon will be deleted in a certain amount of time (such as a month), and give them a link to the Fanon Wiki. I am also going to link the RAF article... I was thinking we need two more sysops. As soon as I get your response, I will update the Site Notice. Another thing, due to the lack of time I have for updating featured content and the lack of Users interested in working with the Main Page, I plan on transforming the Main Page into a page that mentions what is needed on the wiki, what articles need help, as well as keeping the News. Hopefully these changes will get more people involved. I think the key is two more sysops. I've been very tempted to make a very convoluted rule that would make it impossible to use the blogs to be honest with you. But that is probably a tick unfair, but it would force people to do work. I was thinking along the same lines as you so I do not have a whole lot to add. However I think we should switch to minimalism and style over what we've been doing so far. I say we not only redesign the Main Page but Monaco as well and the current logo. If you are wondering what I mean by minimal by stylish, I mean it should be something that you would see....from an Apple product, very sleek, very nice and clean. This is because a lot of people like a nice clean look and it currently looks scruffy here. I think for the Main Page we should have "News", which would be the news for the Wiki and Spongebob and it would use one of our Blogs, "Admin Notices", which would be one of our blogs with news from us the admin (we're going to need communication for this) and that's all I can really think of right now. I'm fresh from a month and a 1/2 in hell, so I'm ready to take on anything so if you're game to my idea. I call Monaco! Now as for the admin, I don't think we should be choosing from this pool of contributors. I completely agree with the transformation of the site design and logo. Regarding the blog: we should either get rid of it or set some guidelines. I really don't know what to do about the blog... I never really liked the idea in the first place, so you make the call. If we have the blog feature disabled, we should notify the community and give a time for discussion until a certain date. As far as hiring administrators; if there is someone outside the Wiki that would be interested in helping and is trustworthy, I am all for it. -AMK152^{(talk • contribs}) 16:51, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

There is nothing we can do about the blogs, even if we had requested the feature not be added they would have added it anyways. I'm thinking we just crack down on it and make it admin only. This will certain raise a stink, but there is no reason for them exist other than to make our lives easier when communicating with the community any other use is superficial and will only serve to hinder progress. I could try the IRC again and see if Sannse or Uberfuzzy would be willing to pull the blogs out for us. But I do not know how that will roll. I'll try anyways and get back to you on it. As for the redesigning, when are you ready? With the holidays coming up I'll be out of commission..again...but I can make a Monaco template some time tomorrow however it'll be in my userspace and not in the article space (Usingmy css page). Enjoy the new look? It's not complete and a bit rough around the edges. But it's much better than what we had before. Also, I forbid the usage blogs unless sanctioned by the administration. Inactivity and lost Admin rights

Hey AMK,

Remember me? I'm the admin of SpongeBob Fanon Wiki (or at least I WAS). I've been very busy in real life and haven't been checking wikis too recently. But when I happen to come back SFW, it happens to have a new theme (which I don't mind, actually), and I find my admin rights gone. Now look, I know I'm too active anymore, but why take them away? Controversey over Unregistered Contributors

I don't think we should let anyone who isn't a member be able to edit everything. Because I've noticed that not much good has came out of a lot of unregistered contributors. For some reason a lot of them have been vandalizing the articles of the main cast of characters, such as removing [everything] on the page, or changing the language on the page. So I think we should only let users allowed to edit anything instead of people we don't know, just like how it used to be. And for some reason I can't undoe any history on Gary the Snail so maybe you could correct it.-GojiBob 6:39pm/e, May 4, 2010

How did you make the Admin Site Notice?

IP problems & Admin approval/denial

Yes, I've become an admin and i am glad to help this wiki. I visit here everyday and i check articles edited by IP's and there are lots of IP edited articles, but i cannot check all of them in one day. Some infamous IPs come here and wreck the articles which i have gladly restored afterwards (it was hard, but some is done). What should we do to reduce vandal strikes? Should we:

• Protect nearly every article, but let some go unprotected so new users can edit them
• The long process of checking every single IP edited article
• Ask the Magic Conch Shell and it answers " Do nothing"

I say we should have at least 5-7 admins here, at least. Let me ask an experienced admin (you) questions because i am still a new admin-

• How many:

Edits in your opinion are necessary for enough experience?

Oppositions/supporters are needed to deny/appoint entries?

Days are needed to go by to approve/deny entries?

Is there a limit to how many admins could be appointed?

I think we shouldn't have unregistered contributors on our site. Not a lot of good comes out of the majority of them. For some reason, that majority of them, likes to SPAM, remove everything on articles, put entirely false information on articles, write stupid or inappropriate things. So yeah, I think we should go back to when this site only lets users edit anything. Someone Won't Stop VANDALIZING Triton!

An unregistered contributor is constantly being persistent and won't stop vandalizing Triton by putting [false information] on the page, and this unregistered contributor is [1]. I even warned him that I will report him if he won't stop, but he didn't listen. I keep undoing his edits but he keeps putting it back up.
