Template talk:Welcome

From SpongeBob Wiki

Suggestion

I think that a usage note should be transcluded/added to this and that this template should be subst'd (IE. {{subst:welcome|Myname}}). Rgoodermote  03:38, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Heck I think I may just be bold and do that. Rgoodermote  03:39, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Suggestions

I suggest these changes to the welcome template.

The {{BASEPAGENAME}} should be replaced with {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>BASEPAGENAME}}. This produces the actual name in the source after the edit is saved instead of {{BASEPAGENAME}}.

Also, instead of all this complicated {{#if:{{{1|}}}|[[user talk:{{{1}}}|my talk page]]|my talk page}}, how about [[User talk:{{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>REVISIONUSER}}|my talk page]]? This automatically adds your username when you save the page.

Finally, I don't know if it is like this in any other templates here, but {{welcome/doc}} should be {{documentation}}. Thanks for taking the time to make these changes! — AXXONNfireFile:Ghost Host 018.png 18:36, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that you can include the signature in the welcome template by putting ~~<noinclude></noinclude>~~AXXONNfireFile:Ghost Host 018.png 18:38, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
