User:PlanKrab/Reviewing Every Episode/Season 10
- Here, I am reviewing every episode of SpongeBob's tenth season.
This season is quite unique as it is has only 22 episodes, and began the post sequel trend of using very exaggerated animation. It is probably the least exaggerated in season 10, but it's still there. Personally the animation doesn't usually bother me, but I understand the criticism for it and it does get out of hand in some episodes. Some people consider this season very boring and lackluster (or full of rehashes, like a certain YouTuber says), while others even call it the best season of the entire show for opposite reasons. What do I think? Well, here's my in depth review of every episode of SpongeBob SquarePants Season 10, using my 17 point rating scale on my userpage.

We begin season 10 with a rather weird episode, and it's honestly a bit disturbing as well. SpongeBob and Patrick literally put propellers on their brains and they fly around everywhere... yeah, really wacky. And for me it wasn't very entertaining, either. There aren't very many jokes in this episode, and the visuals aren't even that great compared to season 9B immediately before. The concept is pretty cool, but it absolutely weirded me out.
The humor in this episode is really dumb, especially in the first half. For example, that whole scene with Squidward freaking out about "aliens from Mars" due to the whirly brains spying on him. It makes sense, but it is so exaggerated that it isn't funny to me. And there's other really stupid jokes, like the child laughing at his father being hit, and that diaper gag, which was really disgusting. The second half of this episode has probably the best scene of the episode: Patrick spelling out "MOON", and then "PATRICK! TAKE IT EASY!". Ironically, that made me burst out laughing, but the rest of the episode didn't make me laugh at all. In general, this episode is really boring, especially in the first half of it.
Overall, I really just can't like this episode because of how stupid it is. It's not really the zaniness that's the problem- it's the dumb humor and boring plot. I would give this a meh, but because there were quite a few jokes that I really didn't like, unfortunately it barely scrapes bad territory.

Quote: "No, Mr. Bob. I expect you to fry!" - Squidward (as Doctor Negative)
This episode is much more entertaining than the previous one. While that episode seemed like a test for the new animation of season 10, this one is much funnier, and probably the best Mermaid Man centered episode since the original six. This one is different from many of the others since it is about SpongeBob and Patrick pretending to be the superheroes. They act so stupid here, but the execution makes it hilarious, unlike in the last episode. It gets even funnier when Mr. Krabs and Squidward decide to play along as Captain Tightwad and Doctor Negative.
This episode doesn't have too many jokes, but the ones that are there are absolutely hilarious. For example, there are the action cards, which have a unique twist to them. For example, when SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward are fighting, we get action cards like "PATHETIC!" and "MEDIOCRE!". These fighting scenes are already hilarious, and these action cards make them even moreso. There's other funny jokes, such as the bank manager mistaking Tightwad and Negative for ladies, and the whole "pretending" to rob a bank gag.
However, the absolute best part of this episode is the ending. I know this ending gets a lot of flack because Squidward acts really mean here, but I found it hilarious, especially since this entire sequence is a parody of James Bond and Batman. It's amazing to see Squidward not liking being Dr. Negative at first, then turning around and suddenly becoming evil, while Captain Tightwad is just like "ok, time to stop". The line "No, Mr. Bob. I expect you to fry!" is the icing on the cake, followed by the narration, is one of my favorite moments of the entire season. The very end is funny too, especially because Squidward gets comeuppance. It doesn't matter if this ending is mean spirited- it's meant to parody superheroes and villains just like the other MM&BB episodes. This isn't one of my favorite episodes, but it is certainly a fantastic one due to the humor. And I think it deserves that rating.

Following the two previous episodes which were really wacky, this episode is actually really calm and reminds me of pre-movie (or season 9B). The concept of SpongeBob looking for a new house is pretty great, though the best part of it is the execution. The beginning may seem like filler at first, but all of it is meant to set up the plot in a clever and comedic way. And most of it is funny, such as the barnacles not wanting to be cleaned, Squidward and the hose, and SpongeBob doubting that dust can make you sneeze. Squidward's "scheme" here is also great and has some funny moments, especially when Squid sneezes and Gary starts attacking him.
The scenes with the other houses are really entertaining, especially because the first 3 are spoofs of the SpongeBob theme song, and the rest are really creative and weird. The fact that the fancy house ends up being a rocket is a really nice twist (and comeuppance for Squidward's prank), and the ending of Squidward not getting SpongeBob's pineapple, but PATRICK'S ROCK, is absolutely hilarious to me. So far this season has had really good endings, and that's always a good thing. This episode carries a great atmosphere, good humor, a creative plot, and this general classic feel that's hard to describe. A fantastic episode for sure.
