The announcer fish[1][2] is a minor character who appears in the episodes "Ripped Pants," "MuscleBob BuffPants," "The Great Snail Race," "Smartificial Intelligence," and "Pablum Plankton." He also appears in the video game The Yellow Avenger.
Description
In his debut, he is a lilac fish with visible gills, light blue lips, pale blue fins, and black hair. He wears a dark blue suit over a white shirt with a red tie.
In later episodes, he is light green colored with a gray suit, a light purple shirt and a dark purple tie. In "Smartificial Intelligence," he also wears darker gray pants.
Role in series
"Ripped Pants"
He is the announcer of the surfing competition at Goo Lagoon. He groans when Template:Data:Links decides to rip his pants while surfing.
"MuscleBob BuffPants"
He is the announcer for the Goo Lagoon 8th annual Anchor Toss competition. He asks for some mustard on his hot dog before realizing that his microphone is on.
"The Great Snail Race"
He is the commentator for the race. He leaves the door to his booth open. A fan, Incidental 41, walks in and starts commentating before the announcer fish returns, saying "Hey!" and shooing him away.
"Smartificial Intelligence"
He appears in the Old Reporters' Row along with other former TV reporters, trying to interview SpongeBob.
"Pablum Plankton"
He announces the winner of Baleen Baby's cutest baby contest, and later hands a check of one jillion dollars to Template:Data:Links.
Role in games
The Yellow Avenger
He appears on Conch Street, getting antagonized by the small Dirty Bubbles. His model is labeled "Businessman" in the game, despite him being a sportscaster.
Trivia
- He is occasionally mistaken for Perch Perkins, who was not introduced until The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. The announcer fish's only appearance since Perch's introduction was in The Yellow Avenger. He eventually returned over 20 years later in "Smartificial Intelligence."
