Synopsis

Plankton and Karen are outside the Chum Bucket, trying to sell free comics to spread their evil ideas. When SpongeBob walks by, Plankton gets a better idea. He decides to hide in a comic that he gives to SpongeBob so that he can pretend to be a comic character. After winning SpongeBob over, he hopes to convince him to hand over a Krabby Patty.

Plankton's plan starts to work when he disguises himself as "Li'l Prunella," a young fish who stars in her own comic. As Prunella, he asks SpongeBob for a bite of a Krabby Patty since coming up with punchlines is such hard work. SpongeBob gives it to him just as Mr. Krabs walks in. Seeing through Plankton's plot, Mr. Krabs orders SpongeBob to enter the comic book and get the patty back. SpongeBob chases Plankton through a variety of different comic strips. The characters from each one get mad at Plankton and start chasing him as well.

While trying to escape them, Plankton drops his Krabby Patty piece. He runs back to Karen at the Chum Bucket, where she is sorry to hear that he lost the piece. However, the real Li'l Prunella knocks on the door, having exited the comic after Plankton. She offers Plankton the piece that he dropped, but Karen thinks that she is trying to woo Plankton, so she fires lasers at her. One laser hits the patty, causing it to vaporize. Mr. Krabs watches and laughs, telling SpongeBob that he is "just enjoying a good punchline."
