This series is run on the SpongeBob SquarePants Official YouTube channel and Nick Rewind YouTube channel, and is part of the SpongeBob 25 campaign. This web series also mark the return of Paul Tibbitt as DoodleBob's voice actor.[1][2]

- The title of the series is taken from the playlist's name on Nick Rewind channel.[3]
- The premise of the series is very similar to SpongeBob: Reimagined, another web series made by Cartuna.
- For unknown reasons, the shorts "DoodleBob's emergency room operation?! 🏥" and "Who does it better- handsome doodlebob or handsome squidward? 🤭" are absent from Nick Rewind's playlist.
- On July 23, 2024, Cartuna's Instagram account posted a 10 second clip of DoodleBob dancing to "Bikini Bottom" by Shaavani Lolvanski.[4]
