[SpongeBob rolls on Patrick and they crash through the letters of the title card. Patrick leapfrogs on SpongeBob across the landscape. SpongeBob is on Patrick's shoulders.]
SpongeBob and Patrick: Beep-boop! Beep-boop!
[Patrick throws SpongeBob off.]
SpongeBob: [screaming]
Patrick: [smacks dry lips] I'm thirsty! [sticks his tongue out, which dries up and evaporates into dust] Ooh! [picks up SpongeBob and wrings him into his mouth, then dries up again] I'm still thirsty!
[Patrick runs around camp while SpongeBob chases him.]
Patrick: Thirsty! Thirsty, thirsty! [sees Krabs' cabin] I bet there's water in there. [runs in]
SpongeBob: [runs in] Patrick, I don't think we should be in here without Camp Master Krabs.
[Patrick drinks from a ship in a bottle and burps.]
Patrick: Ah, that hit the spot. Here, have a sip. [the bottle is empty]
SpongeBob: No thanks. Hmm. [reading] S.S. Carpus? [gasps]
Patrick: That's a dumb name for water.
SpongeBob: Patrick! This isn't water! You drank Mr. Krabs' prized ship in a bottle!
Patrick: Uh-oh. [the ship churns inside his stomach]
Mr. Krabs: [singing off-screen]
SpongeBob: [gasps] Mr. Krabs!
[Patrick punches himself in the stomach repeatedly.]
Patrick: Get out, ship! Get out!
SpongeBob: Let me help! [jumps on Patrick] Get out, ship! Get out!
[Patrick spits the ship out. In slow-motion, SpongeBob jumps across the room to grab it, but it goes too far away.]
SpongeBob: [slow-motion] Noooooo!
[The ship lands gently on the ground.]
SpongeBob: Phew!
[The ship suddenly breaks apart.]
[SpongeBob grabs the pieces and tries to reassemble the ship. Mr. Krabs pulls the door handle. SpongeBob saws a log. Krabs struggles against the door. SpongeBob welds some wood. Krabs struggles some more. SpongeBob uses a jackhammer. Patrick runs up.]
Patrick: I'll get it!
[Krabs opens the door and slams Patrick. He sees SpongeBob putting the newly-repaired ship back in its place.]
Krabs: Huh? SpongeBob!?
SpongeBob: [gasps]
Krabs: [takes bottle] Me S.S. Carpus! She was the first ship I ever sailed on! And it's shipwrecked! [cries]
SpongeBob: We are so sorry, Mr. Krabs. Really, we are.
Patrick: Ah, what do you mean, we?
[The door budges as Patrick has just left.]
SpongeBob: I meant... [deflates] me.
Krabs: Frankly, I'm surprised that a good boy like yourself would get involved in such bad boy-erie. I've got no choice but to sentence you to time out.
SpongeBob: Time out? [splits apart like an accordion]
[Krabs has SpongeBob seated in a large, empty room with just a clock on the wall.]
Krabs: Are ye ready to pay your debt to society?
SpongeBob: [nods]
Krabs: Good. Well then, get ready for [dramatically] hard time! Are ye comfortable? [waves pillow, kindly] For your tushy. [puts the pillow on the chair and leaves, then comes back through the door] Oh, and if you get hungry, there's snacks in the fridge. Bye-bye!
SpongeBob: [looks around] Ah, this ain't so bad!
French Narrator: One minute later...
[SpongeBob is drawing tally marks on the wall with a blue crayon.]
SpongeBob: 61 seconds, 62 seconds, [zooms out to show him looking tired] 63 seconds... [tattoos "Sponge-Life" onto his arm] Sponge-Life. [sits at a weightlifting bench with a stick tied to two balloons on it and does some reps, then drops it in surprise and it floats away]
Patrick: Psst. Hey, SpongeBob. Don't worry, buddy. I'm gonna bust you out!
[Patrick picks up a rock. SpongeBob opens the window, only to be hit by Patrick unknowingly throwing the rock at it.]
SpongeBob: Ow!
Patrick: [laughs] Sorry!
SpongeBob: I don't want to be busted out, Patrick. I'm doing your time. [pokes and squishes Patrick's head] You're too soft for the joint.
Patrick: Ah, I get it. There are ears everywhere... except on us. [holds head] We have no ears.
[Patrick is digging to the time-out room. He smashes into the side of Krabs' cabin.]
Patrick: Let's go! [digs through a room]
SpongeBob: [rolls a rug over Patrick] Patrick! No! [stomps on him]
[SpongeBob paces around in the room. Patrick rolls in on a laundry cart and comes up with a ghost costume, scaring SpongeBob and exposing his skeleton.]
Patrick: Let's get outta here, SpongeBob!
SpongeBob: [zips self up] Patrick, no! [hangs him out on a clothesline]
[Patrick welds jail bars to SpongeBob's window. He ties them to a moose snail and smacks it to make it move. The window gets pulled off, slicing through Patrick's head and making it fall apart.]
SpongeBob: Patrick, no!
Patrick: [rearranges his head incorrectly] Huh? Since I can't break SpongeBob out, I'm gonna break myself in! [puts head back correctly] I'm going on a [tears sleeves] crime spree!
[Patrick loiters near some trash cans. When Mr. Krabs comes by, Patrick shoves one over, making him scream.]
Patrick: What'cha gonna do, old man?
Krabs: [angrily] Why you-- [takes candy out of trash] oh, a candy bar! Still factory wrapped and me favorite flavor-- free!
Patrick: A candy bar!? [digs through trash, then jumps in another can] What am I doing? I don't want candy bars. [lifts can] I want prison bars! [trash dumps on him]
[Patrick drags a large bag across the camp. He opens it and releases urchins. The urchins eat a camper's sandwich, Harvey's clothes, and Kevin, Bubble Bass, and Perch's clothes.]
Bubble Bass: Somebody save us!
Patrick: [proudly] I did it! It was me!
[The urchins form a vacuum cleaner shape and eat up the trash] Well, blow me down! Urchins are natural vacuum cleaners! [urchins burp] Good work, camper!
Patrick: [frustrated] Come on!
[Krabs goes around the camp, marking various locations off a checklist as he sees them.]
Krabs: Hmm, stage in shape. Check. Cabins in shape. Check. The outhouse. Ugh. The gross, smelly outhouse. Wait a minute. What?
[Patrick has renovated the outhouse into a monster truck. He does donuts and drives it into the lake, but it ends up sinking. He slides back up to Krabs. Krabs seethes in anger, but then compliments him.]
Krabs: Excellent work, camper! That outhouse needed a good cleaning!
Patrick: [growls] Oh, what do ya gotta do in this camp to get a time out!? [rips his neckerchief off and throws it on the ground]
Krabs: [gasps] Tossing your neckerchief in the dirt. That's disrespectin' camp property! Looks like you've got yourself a time out.
Patrick: [laughs] Oh, yay! [holds out hands] Cuff me!
[Back in time-out, the room is covered in tally marks made by SpongeBob. Krabs takes Patrick inside.]
Krabs: Another bad boy for the big house.
[SpongeBob is bent over backwards in the corner, kicking his legs and babbling insanely.]
Krabs: [disturbed] Ooh. You guys... cool down... I'll check back in a little while. [shuts door and leaves]
Patrick: Hey, buddy. I've come to keep you company!
SpongeBob: [squints, pointing] Do I know you?
Patrick: [distorted in SpongeBob's vision] It's me, Patrick!
SpongeBob: [scratches head] But I already have a Patrick. [takes out a stuffed dummy resembling Patrick] This is Patrick. [hugs dummy] He's my best friend.
Patrick: [sadly] But I thought I was your best friend. [zooms out to show Patrick under a spotlight, his voice echoing] Friend. Friend. Friend.
SpongeBob: [giggles creepily while looking at Dummy Patrick]
Patrick: [lifts up arms in anger] Hey! I'm the only one who gets to whisper in SpongeBob's holes! [grabs dummy] All right, I'll admit that you're probably smarter than me and you smell better, and yes, you're--you're better looking, which is pretty hard to do. But! SpongeBob is my sponge!
[Patrick rolls with the dummy outside the room, fighting it.]
SpongeBob: Patrick, don't hurt Patrick!
Patrick: Stop being so beautiful! [the dummy punches him and he runs into Krabs' desk] Get off me, you dream boat!
[Patrick throws the dummy into SpongeBob's face, sending him back into the time-out room.]
SpongeBob: [screaming]
[Patrick shoves Krabs' desk towards SpongeBob. He escapes, and the desk slams into the wall. The dummy, split apart, falls down.]
Patrick: [putting it together] Pull yourself together and fight me, you stone cold fox!
SpongeBob: [holding the dummy's head] Patrick? You'll be all right, buddy.
Patrick: [sobbing] No, no, no, no, no! No, no, no, no, no!
SpongeBob: [sobbing] Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
[They start flailing into each other, creating a dust cloud.]
Krabs: [entering] Okay, your time out is up, boys.
[The dust cloud grows over him, so he uses a fan to blow it away. SpongeBob and Patrick are revealed to be tiredly waving their arms on the floor having a tantrum]
Krabs: Hmm, I said, time out is up. [pointing] Go!
[They both get up.]
SpongeBob: [now sane] Oh, hi, Patrick.
Patrick: Hi, SpongeBob. We've been pardoned.
SpongeBob: Shall we?
SpongeBob and Patrick: [exiting and singing] ♪ La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la! ♪
Krabs: [sighs]
SpongeBob: [leaves the cabin with Patrick] Ooh, I really gotta use the outhouse.
Patrick: Oh, yeah. About that outhouse. [puts his shoulder around him] The lake's this way.
French Narrator: [narrating time card] Later that day...
[Krabs is in his office, working on a restoration of the S.S. Carpus.]
Krabs: One more piece. Now, where's that glue?
[The Patrick dummy from time-out gives the glue to Mr. Krabs.]
Patrick dummy: Here you go.
Krabs: [screams]
[Krabs runs into the time-out room.]
Patrick dummy: I guess every now and then, we could all use a time out.
