Iron Dogfish is the final boss in the video game SuperSponge.

Description

Iron Dogfish is a hybrid between a dog and a fish, having both parts of said animals, and, as its name suggests, it is made out of iron.

For the upper half of his body, it is a dog head without ears whose facial traits resemble those of an American Staffordshire Terrier, with beige skin and cadet blue-colored eyes, nose, and lips. It has a brown spiked collar around its neck. Its arms are muscular and they have the same color as its head. On the lower part, it has a fish torso and tail that is gray on the front and cadet blue on the back, with the addition of a small, gray, spiky dorsal fin on its back.

In the Game Boy Advance version, its lower jaw is colored red and its fish body is entirely gray.

Role in game

Iron Dogfish is the fifth and last boss that SpongeBob must face in order to beat the game, encountered at the end of Chapter 5, Level 4.

The fight takes place in a small, closed room with four floating switch blocks above SpongeBob and Iron Dogfish. To damage it, the player must jump on top of the switch blocks to press them and expel a freezing gas that temporarily stuns Iron Dogfish, making it vulnerable for a short time in which the player has to butt-bounce on it. Doing this repeatedly will eventually defeat the boss, which will award the player with a monkey wrench and finish the game.
