The Mariachi Trench is a large trench that appears in the comic strip They're Playing My Tune.
Description
It is a very deep canyon with gray rocky cliffs on the sides, several rocks scattered across the ground, and a sandy bottom. A small mariachi band lives in the trench, which explains the trench's name.
Role in comic
When Squidward is trying to get away from SpongeBob's annoying song, the first place he is seen traveling to is the depths of the Mariachi Trench. However, the mariachi band living in the trench starts singing the song, to Squidward's displeasure.

- The Mariachi Trench is a parody of the Mariana Trench, a trench found in the Pacific Ocean which houses the deepest part of the world's oceans.
- The actual Mariana Trench later appears in the episode "Scavenger Pants."
