Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy vs. The Octopus King is the third comic strip of the comic book SpongeBob Comics No. 1.

Synopsis
SpongeBob is staring at Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, causing the former to panic and demand what he wants. SpongeBob replies, saying that he wants to see the superheroes perform a heroic act. Barnacle Boy suggests that he and Mermaid Man should fight a villain, and they decide on fighting the Octopus King (due to him being one of the few villains still alive).
The two superheroes find the Octopus King, who is peacefully sleeping. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy believe that the Octopus King is faking sleeping, and start to attack him by grabbing his tentacles. However, the heroes are so old that they can't hold up the tentacles, and get trapped under them. Mermaid Man notices that SpongeBob isn't watching and wonders where he is, and it is shown that SpongeBob got distracted by a small bug crawling around.
