Mr. Puff was Mrs. Puff's late husband who makes a brief live-action appearance in the episode "Krusty Love." He was killed by humans and turned into a lightbulb cover for a lamp. He later appears alive in "Hysterical History."

Description

Mr. Puff highly resembled Mrs. Puff, except he had light brown hair with a bushy mustache, and his fins were beige like his body, while Mrs. Puff's fins are light teal. He wore a gray suit and white shirt with black tie, along with black pants and shoes.

Biography

He married Mrs. Puff. In the Industrial Revolution era, he ran the first successful boatmobile factory that produced the first-ever boat, the Model C, and also owned the Bikini Bottom Hospital next to it. At some point, he was caught by fishermen and turned into a light bulb cover for a lamp, leaving Mrs. Puff a widow.

Roles in series

"Krusty Love"

Mr. Puff makes his first and only live-action appearance in the main series when Mr. Krabs asks SpongeBob about what happened to Mr. Puff when he hears Mrs. Puff's name and that she is single despite having "Mrs." in her name. Mr. Puff is then shown to be part of a lamp with a pull switch getting turned on by a human hand, revealing him to be dead. SpongeBob then somberly remarks that Mrs. Puff does not like to talk about it.

"Hysterical History"

In the Museum of Bikini Bottom History, SpongeBob tells the story of the first successful boat assembly line and its owner, Mr. Puff. In a flashback, Mr. Puff is shown at his factory, instructing engineer versions of SpongeBob and Patrick speed up at the line number five. As they work, they have an accident on the conveyor belt and end up in the next-door hospital in the form of a Mobile C boat, where Mr. Puff jumps in and honks the horn.
