• This short was done in Flash animation. This style wasn't used again in any SpongeBob SquarePants media except online games until 15 years later for a different Super Bowl short, the "Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show short."
• This and the 2019 Super Bowl short were the only SpongeBob shorts to air during the Super Bowl.
• This is the first short to play "Dancing The Hula."
