Paddlewheel

From SpongeBob Wiki
Object

A paddlewheel is a wheel that appears in the console versions of the video games Battle for Bikini Bottom, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game, and Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated.

Description

Paddlewheels are large wooden wheels with four paddles, and on each side of every paddle is a picture of a bowling ball with a burst effect and bubbles surrounding it. Paddlewheels can be in either horizontal or vertical positions. SpongeBob can use his Bubble Bowl or Sponge-Bowl moves to turn a paddlewheel's paddles, causing platforms to move or doors to open, though some paddlewheels' effects only last for a few seconds.

Role in games

Battle for Bikini Bottom

Paddlewheels first appear in the Mermalair and serve as a tutorial for SpongeBob's new Bubble Bowl move. Most can be used to traverse the level, though one can also be used to get one of Patrick's socks. Two paddlewheels also appears in SpongeBob's Dream, where turning one releases a beach ball SpongeBob can use to reach a golden spatula. Another is used to leave Sandy's dream.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game

Paddlewheels reappear in the level "Now That We're Men...", where they serve as a tutorial for SpongeBob's Sponge-Bowl move. A few are used to traverse the level, and the end of the level features trampolines attached to paddlewheels, with the trampoline changing height when the paddlewheel is spun.

Paddlewheels return in the level "Welcome to Planktopolis... Minions," where one is used to get a treasure chest and two are used to activate some walls for wall-jumping.
