The sea snake is an animal who appears in the episode "Squidiot Box."

Description

The sea snake is really huge, has orange and yellow snake skin, green fin ears, a dark orange tail fin, fangs for teeth, and a light pink tongue with which it can hiss.

Role in episode

When Squidward gets transferred to an imaginary jungle, Patrick asks if there are any scary sea snakes there. After saying this, Squidward's beach chair transforms into a sea snake. It coils around Squidward's body, capturing him, but he manages to break free and escape. The snake starts chasing Squidward with a sea panther, but he hides inside a log from them, where they don't notice him.

Trivia

• It resembles a combination of a red coral rattlesnake and a catfish.
• Sea snakes also appear in Employee of the Month (resembling a cobra), "The Sewers of Bikini Bottom" (sewer snake), and "Delivery to Monster Island" (snake monster) and are mentioned in "Squid Plus One" (by SpongeBob) and "A Tale of Two Roxies" (by Mr. Krabs).
