The shelled spider-like creature is a character who appears in the episode "Lost in Bikini Bottom."
Description
The shelled spider-like creature appears to have a distorted, spiral-like purple shell with light-orange stripes and large spikes. Its actual body appears to be brown and hairy, resembling that of a spider. It appears to have six eyes and six legs.
Role in episode
After SpongeBob becomes lost looking for a shortcut, he remembers that looking for local landmarks would help him figure out where he was. The first of these landmarks is the creature's shell, which he refers to as large and unusual. After SpongeBob walks away from the shell, the creature emerges and skitters away into the distance.
