The slapstick plains are a field seen in the episode "Don't Feed the Clowns." They are plains near the Kelp Forest where wild clowns roam free. According to the ringmaster in the episode, this is where he got his clowns from.
Description
The slapstick plains are large, colorful, patterned fields where clowns run wild. Many slapstick gags can be found in the slapstick plains, including large, water-spraying flowers, trees with clown horns growing on them, and several pies littering the ground.
Role in episode
At the beginning of the episode, the ringmaster mentions the slapstick plains as the home of wild clowns, and mentions that his troupe of clowns are from this location and have been tamed since. At the end of the episode, when the little clown fails to find a good job due to being unable to resist his natural clown instincts, SpongeBob brings him here, so he can live among his own kind and be free.
