SpongeBob's cleats
SpongeBob's cleats are gag shoes worn by SpongeBob in the episode "SpongeBob Meets the Strangler."
Description
They are large black cleats with white shoelaces and spikes sticking out from the bottom.
Role in episode
When SpongeBob and the Tattletale Strangler (masquerading as a bodyguard) attempt to gain entrance to SpongeBob's house, SpongeBob suggests going through the top windows. The Strangler cannot reach the window and asks SpongeBob for help. When SpongeBob jumps on top of the Strangler, he places his spiky cleats into the Strangler's eyes. This causes the Strangler severe pain and to run around screaming for six hours until SpongeBob finally finds his house key under the doormat.
Trivia
- SpongeBob's regular shoes suddenly transition into cleats, only to go back to their regular form once the Strangler takes them out of his eyes.
