Squidward's coral tree is a tree on Squidward's front yard. It appears in the episodes "Christmas Who?" and "Snowball Effect."
Description
"Christmas Who?"
The tree is purple with various branches. On its bark it has white dots, as part of the tree, and is planted next to Squidward Tentacles' house.
"Snowball Effect"
It is much larger and it goes into SpongeBob's yard. It also has longer branches and a lighter color.
Role in series
"Christmas Who?"
SpongeBob and Patrick cut the coral tree down to make way for a Christmas tree during the song montage of "The Very First Christmas." Squidward takes notice of this and sings about it in his first lyric. It is later used as a Christmas tree - decorated with glowing jellyfish as ornaments and Patrick being the star at the top.
"Snowball Effect"
Obsessing to protect himself from SpongeBob and Patrick in a snowball fight, Squidward builds a massive fort. With an open spot on the top, snow from his coral tree falls onto his head. Squidward in response starts throwing snowballs back thinking that SpongeBob and Patrick are attacking him. The episode ends with SpongeBob and Patrick - who had snuck away from Squidward - being indoors and ignoring Squidward.

- Though it resembles and is called a tree, it is not a plant, as corals are animals.
