Super Gary (also known as Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy Meet Super Gary) is the fourth comic of SpongeBob Comics Annual Super-Giant Swimtacular No. 1.

Synopsis
At the Shady Shoals Rest Home, Mermaid Man reminisces about his crime fighting days with Barnacle Boy, and questions what happened to Barnacle Boy's youthful energy. Barnacle Boy replies that he grew up, but Mermaid Man ignores him and says that he needs a pet to rekindle his spirit. Barnacle Boy tries to argue, but Mermaid Man ignores him again.
They then see Gary near them, and Mermaid Man states that Gary is Barnacle Boy's perfect pet. Barnacle Boy points out how Gary is just SpongeBob's snail, and Mermaid Man realizes that Gary needs to become a Super Gary in order to be his sidekick. He then tells Barnacle Boy to hand over his neckerchief, hat, and goggles, which Mermaid Man fastens to Gary.
With Gary now covered in Barnacle Boy's items, Mermaid Man dubs him "Barnacle Beast" and claims that the snail shall becomes his new sidekick. Mermaid Man then destroys some furniture as the two leave to fight crime, and Barnacle Boy believes that this is why the retirement home doesn't allow pets.
