The Replacement
The Replacement is the first comic strip in SpongeBob Comics No. 4.

Synopsis
In the Krusty Krab kitchen, SpongeBob is singing while washing dishes. Mr. Krabs yells at SpongeBob to put away his towel and "make way for the future!" He introduces SpongeBob to the Grimeinator, which is a cleaning technology that the Krusty Krab was specially selected for a free trial of. The Grimeinator shoots grime at the dishes, which frightens SpongeBob, but is reassured that the robot is programmed to seek out all grime and eliminate it. The robot eats the dishes, swishes them around in its mouth, and spits out clean dishes into a cabinet.
Not only does the Grimeinator remove the need to wash dishes, but it can do all the work needed at the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs then takes off SpongeBob's employee hat, firing him, and gives it to the Grimeinator. SpongeBob squeezes a bottle of grime out while sobbing, covering both him and Mr. Krabs in grime.
The Grimeinator swallows the two, who enter a wave of dish soap. They notice that Plankton is inside the robot, and is behind all of its actions in a scheme to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula. Plankton is about to reach for the safe, when Mr. Krabs squirts the bubble Plankton is inside with grime. The Grimeinator rips its head apart, and Plankton runs away, cursing Krabs.
Mr. Krabs apologizes to SpongeBob for his dismissal, and gives SpongeBob the employee hat back, ordering him to clean up the mess.
