Synopsis

Intro

SpongeBob curls up on his chair with Gary near the fireplace on Christmas Eve night. However, when he is about to begin, Patrick interrupts him going berserk about being alone on Christmas. So Spongebob invites him over.

Stave One

Back in 1843, Ebenezer Krabs enters the Tentacles and Krabs Restaurant, demanding his clerk frycook, Bob CratchitPants, to get back to work making Krabby Stew. He asks for coal, which Ebenezer Krabs rejects. Then, his nephew, Freddy Krabs wishes him a holidays and when he explains the goods about Christmas, Bob CratchitPants appeals Freddy Krabs, which angers Ebenezer Krabs. Later, Bob CratchitPants asked to be paid a day's off work, which Ebenezer Krabs reluctantly agrees, as it is Christmas.

That night, Ebenezer Krabs relaxes at home in his usual menacing manner, however, upon getting ready for bed, he is faced by a ghost, his old partner whom was named Marley Tentacles, who died seven years ago, and is forced to haul heavy anchors as punishment for his misdeeds. Marley Tentacles warns him he will have the same fate if he doesn't change his ways, however, will be visited by three ghosts that night.

Stave Two

The clock chimes, and the Ghost of Christmas Past enters in Ebenezer Krabs' room. The Ghost of Christmas Past brings him back to an old school dance, where Ebenezer Krabs is dancing with Belle Puff, as now he wishes he had her, but because he put his money first, he did not have Belle Puff after all. Ebenezer Krabs begins to feel guilty.

Stave Three

He awakes and the clock chimes, and so the Ghost of Christmas Present enters in Ebenezer Krabs' room. The Ghost of Christmas Present takes him to his clerk, Bob CratchitPants' house, where he and Mrs. CratchitPants are dining on a small goose (obviously, because of being underpaid), then Tiny Timmy the Snail comes down, he may be weak but he is glad and prayers begin as King Neptune is thanked. Ebenezer Krabs wants Tiny Timmy the Snail to live, but unfortunately, the Ghost of Christmas Present tells him he only has a week to have, much to Ebenezer Krabs' dismay.

Stave Four

Ebenezer Krabs is confronted by the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, which it is a cloudy sky, and two funerals are being held. Tiny Timmy is being mourned by Bob CratchitPants and Mrs. CratchitPants for the first funeral, and the second funeral shows Bikini Bottomites laughing at a tombstone. Ebenezer Krabs looks closely, and realizes that the grave reads "EBENEZER KRABS", much to his horror. He starts wailing.

Stave Five

Ebenezer Krabs suddenly wakes up in bed. He says Merry Christmas to the world. He goes over to Freddy Krabs' house for dinner, much to his delight. The next day, Bob CratchitPants arrives late, and Ebenezer Krabs gets angry. Ebenezer Krabs says he is doubling his workshift, and also reducing his salary by half, however, Bob CratchitPants cheers. Back to reality, SpongeBob tells Gary and Patrick that's why Mr. Krabs is the best manager ever. The episode ends from here.

Transcript

SpongeBob is seen snuggling up on the fireplace with Gary.

SpongeBob: Come sit on my lap, Gary.

Gary: Meow.

SpongeBob: Ahh, this is more like it-

Patrick (comes wailing into SpongeBob’s frontroom): Hey, SpongeBob.

SpongeBob: What’s wrong, Patrick?

Patrick: I don’t have anyone to spend the holidays with!

SpongeBob: Da-a-a-a-a! You’re always welcome to spend it with me, pal.

Patrick: Thanks, SpongeBob.

SpongeBob: It’s story time!

Patrick: Yay! (starts to clap)

SpongeBob: Today’s story is about 200 years ago, an amazing thing happened … let me tell you.

It goes back to 1843

SpongeBob: Once upon a time, there was an awful man named Ebenezer Krabs. No one really liked him, and so he liked it.

Ebenezer Krabs: [entering the restaurant that says Tentacles and Krabs] What is this, Bob CratchitPants, dozing on the job?!

Bob CratchitPants: [awakens] Oh, sorry, about that, sir.

Ebenezer Krabs: Well, I expect you to get back to work makin' those beef stews!

Bob CratchitPants: Aye aye, captain! [he resumes cooking, but suddenly shivers] Mr. Krabs, no offense, sir, but it is really cold in here. May you be as kind to bring us coal?

Ebenezer Krabs: [angrily] Absolutely not, not one piece of coal will do! It costs money and that's that! Now get back to work!

Bob CratchitPants: Aye aye, captain!

Freddy Krabs: [bursts into the restaurant where Ebenezer Krabs is] Merry Christmas, Uncle Krabs!

Ebenezer Krabs: [irritated] Bah! Humbug!

Freddy Krabs: Oh no, uncle, Christmas is not a humbug.

Ebenezer Krabs: Arr! So you think, what good has it brought to you?

Freddy Krabs: It may have not given me a penny's worth of money, but it gave me the greatest gift of all: love.

Bob CratchitPants: [claps]

Ebenezer Krabs: [laughs] Love?! Now go, I have work to do here! [to Bob CratchitPants] Not another sound, CratchitPants!

Freddy Krabs: But, happy New-

Ebenezer Krabs: [angrily] Out! Now!! [kicks Freddy Krabs out]

Freddy Krabs: -Year's.

Child Fish: [knocks on Ebenezer Krabs] Ebenezer Krabs?

Ebenezer Krabs: [angrily] What do you want?!

Child Fish: [hands Mr. Krabs a donut-shaped coral reef] Merry Christmas, Ebenezer Krabs! [hands him the reef]

Ebenezer Krabs: [grunts, and slams the door without speaking a word, and throws the reef at the kid.]

Child Fish: Ouch! [silently] Jerk.

[Night falls on the Tentacles and Krabs restaurant, and a clam howls]

Bob CratchitPants: [readies to pack up, and walks to Ebenezer Krabs] Mr. Krabs, tomorrow is Christmas Day.

Ebenezer Krabs: And I suppose you want the whole day off?

Bob CratchitPants: [nods]

Ebenezer Krabs: And you still expect me to pay you?

Bob CratchitPants: [nods]

Ebenezer Krabs: Arrgh! Fine! But you better come here earlier the next morning ... or you're FIRED!

Bob CratchitPants: Aye aye, captian! Merry Christmas, Mr. Krabs!

Ebenezer Krabs: Hmph! [puts on his coat, and secures the door, he is faded to a shadow walking the silent night, mumbling to himself] Humbug. What's Christmas so important about anyway! Me money is the best thing in the world. Bah! [he enters his mansion, but hears a creak] Huh? Bah, humbug. [the door creaks again] What's that? [looks around] Hmph! Nobody better- [a green light appears behind his back, looks but the light dims] Who's doing that, stop it! [the green light flashes in and out three more times, as the light brightens, he screams, panting, and runs up the stairs. He quickly secures his door with a double lock. The green light slips in, revealing to be an octopus]

Ebenezer Krabs: [meanly] What do you want from me?

Marley Tentacles: [groans] You're really pulling in, Ebenezer.

Ebenezer Krabs: Well, who are ye then?

Marley Tentacles: I was your business partner, Marley Tentacles.

Ebenezer Krabs: Oh, Marley, you were such a fine business man.

Marley Tentacles: [shakes his head no]

Ebenezer Krabs: Ah, that's silly talk! [shakes his head no again] Okay, tell me!

Marley Tentacles: Ugh. You see these anchors? I've been forced to haul these chains for all seven years since I died!

Ebnezer Krabs: Oh. Sad.

Marley Tentacles: Your attitude has been cold.

Ebnezer Krabs: Bah! That's crazy talk!

Marley Tentacles: No, it's true. You are destined to share the same fate as I have now.

Ebnezer Krabs: Okay, tell me, but don't take me money.

Overview on SpongeBob

SpongeBob has its pros and cons

When the show was so GOOD!

Season 1 was the best season of all. It had traditional cel animation (besides a little digital ink and paint from Jellyfish Jam and SB-129, I heard). But it was great! And the earlier the episode was made, the better it actually was. Why I love traditional cel animation so much more than digital ink and paint is because despite it is expensive for traditional cel, you can do much more slapstick when you do traditional cel. Drawn by a fancy pen, it helped many episodes be so good.
