This is a pretty enjoyable episode. Both Drizzle and Gale Doppler are awesome one-off characters, the former being super cute and amusing and the latter funny. The episode has an interesting concept that I had my doubts about but was done really well. As season 12 always does, it takes advantage of its weird story and makes clever jokes, this time about clouds, such as Drizzle eating steam and freezing people. Finally the action sequence near the end of the episode was awesome and had a great atmosphere. This isn't a perfect episode but one I definitely loved.

Oh boy. It is time I finally discussed this monstrosity of an episode. First off, Squidward's house is getting fumigated and SpongeBob thinks it's a circus, which is kinda a dumb joke and is stretched out way too long. Then when he gets to the hotel, the receptionist is just annoying. The bell boy joke is pretty stupid. And of course, OF COURSE SpongeBob and Patrick are there. I already know they're going to ruin his time and this episode ends up doing it WORSE than any other. Then, there is the screaming scene, the worst scene of the show. Squidward horribly runs from SpongeBob and Patrick, who are EVERYWHERE and it's not funny because of how bad I feel for Squidward and how little he did to deserve it! It's not just that, but there's ugly facial expressions and obnoxiously loud screaming! Then everything after that is super dumb. The people of the convention want him because he's a mascot and he just starts zapping them. I get everyone treated Squidward horribly but him getting back at them somehow isn't satisfying. It's just annoying. Everything about this episode is annoying. From the faces, to the screams, to the treatment of Squidward, I despise everything here, and it's the only episode truly worthy of being called the worst of the series.

SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout
SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout. An episode like no other, as this is in fact my favorite episode of the series. Instead of giving my normal short review, this episode deserves more. Which is why I decided to do a full-on analysis of this magnificent episode.
The Patchy segments this episode starts off with are a bit...weird. I mean, these aren’t bad and aren’t close at all, but they don’t feel that much like a typical Patchy segment. Maybe it’s how quick it goes, maybe it’s the very high quality it’s filmed in (a huge highlight of this episode by the way), maybe it’s the strange look of the land legs joke, or maybe it’s Doug Lawrence’s off-sounding portrayal of Potty, something seems a bit different about these while I still love them. Also the stop motion bit at the end of the segment was hilarious.
The SpongeBob parts start off a tiny bit slow but I love them. Gary’s present was creative and the jokes under Patrick’s rock were super funny. The only reason I call them “slow” is because the later parts are funnier, but that doesn’t say much. Then there’s the...drool scene. Even the best episode of the entire series has a flaw. This few seconds is boring, unfunny, and just stupid. Thankfully it ends pretty quickly. There’s a lot of good jokes once the characters start moving the furniture and I liked the “country bride” visual gag.
When Patrick and SpongeBob get on the bus, it’s where, in my opinion, the episode really speeds up and turns from great to amazing. I loved Rube reading out the rules, that brought a lot of good jokes. Frenchy’s cameo was absolutely amazing, and I enjoyed David Hasselhoff. When the bus first reached the surface, I loved everything about how it looked specifically. There’s a lot of good cinematography and amazing film quality, and I love seeing the small bus on a big beach. It’s just eye candy. Then there’s Beach Blanket Bean-Go. Now, let me just ask, what exactly was this? I’m not fully sure but it is hilarious. Just the ridiculous-ness of it all kept me laughing the whole time. Beanie McBean’s song thing was great and so was that whole trivia thing. Then Patrick taking over the bus to get beans was super funny and had some great facial expressions. The whole shower part following felt like a bit of a weird conflict and went a bit slow but wasn’t too bad.
Then we get back to the decorating, and it’s excellent. Every character contributes at least one good joke and it’s a great homage to the many different types of episodes this show has done. Once Squidward starts slipping around the room it allows for fantastic, fast-paced physical comedy. We get back to the tour and the cinematography is still awesome. The first thing the scene shows is the characters riding a tree branch and going through a log, which looked really good. Then when the camera pans to show the dog and its owner in front of the city background, it just looks marvelous. The small plastic disc that you toss being thrown at the bus and the whole dog chase was a great scene with some superb action. The way of tying Patchy into a scene was also pretty funny.
The party starts and it’s super funny. While Slappy and his role in the episode confuses me it’s cool to see tons of minor characters from the series in line. The little bit with SpongeBob’s parents was funny, and just showing every different section of the party was spectacular and every one of them was super funny. I liked the “my leg!” gag as well, and the dancing was well-animated. After that is a quick, fun montage of the tour bus going through many different places before the office building. I love everything in it. The paper clip jungle part has a great atmosphere and the gorilla scene was absolutely hysterical. It’s not the best scene in the show but it’s close. It’s so amazingly paced and the character’s reactions are great. And the Trusty Slab scene that follows is even better. Every actor puts a lot of effort into playing their character in live-action and it works so well. There are constant jokes and it’s an absolute joy to watch. It feels exactly like if the show was put in live-action.
We get to the fish store, which is a really clever and pretty original way to do the climax. It has a really well done atmosphere. I like how they gave Patrick a little love interest, though it’s ironic considering this is the one ever episode MINDY returns in. The CGI fish were a nice addition, and I really like the last minute or so on the surface. It references a lot of things from earlier in the episode, like the pie dragon, David Hasselhoff (I also liked his little bit with Patchy), and Bean-Go. Also SpongeBob saying “Good-bye, sweet Surface Land. I'll never forget you.” was good and emotional.
The ending to this episode is nothing short of blessed. It starts with SpongeBob giving a nice monologue and being happy even when his house is destroyed, and then Patchy comes and meets SpongeBob. What’s so nice about this is that Patchy has been a huge fan of SpongeBob since his first appearance and while the style of his segments has changed he’s always believed in SpongeBob and wanted to meet him. And here, his wish comes true. It’s super heartwarming. The birthday song is perfect. Instead of a normal birthday song they do one that really honors the 20 years this show has been on the air. The entire episode was not only a perfect episode but a perfect anniversary special that honored SpongeBob in so many ways. I’m proud to be a fan because this episode was an absolute masterpiece. The episode ends on a joke that I love for many reasons, the KKTV reference, the little theme song reference, how it subverts saying SpongeBob’s age, and of course the dedication to Stephen Hillenburg. If it wasn’t obvious, I adore this episode, easily the best of the series.

This has one of the greatest stories of the whole show. Bringing the Chum Bucket glove to life and having Hans fight him was a great choice and they do a lot with it. There are so many jokes relating to hands as well as many different ones and I love how creative they all are. This is an insanely awesome episode with great humor and a fantastic climax.

The Ghost of Plankton
This episode features a pairing that is very very uncommon in the show, Plankton and the Flying Dutchman. The only other time they've done anything of importance together is in Boo-Kini last season. However in this one, the two together is just great and really holds the episode up. They have a great dynamic and are pretty funny together. Yes, the plot does change but both the parts where Plankton learns to scare people and his funeral are super funny. There isn't much else to say, this is a brilliant episode.

The Hankering
This episode has quite a few things going for it. First off, the visuals are spectacular and some of the show's best. Also, this episode has lots and lots of good jokes, such as Mr. Krabs' long walk back to his ship. This episode also has a really good concept, seeing Mr. Krabs be addicted to chum is a great idea that was executed brilliantly. There's nothing to dislike here, this episode is a true masterpiece.

Escape From Beneath Glove World
This episode is just so much fun. While the story feels all over the place just how exciting and joke-filled it was made me invested in the story all the way through. There's a great atmosphere and not one part I didn't like. Not to mention the new characters are splendid, as well as the songs. That's basically all I have to say on this one, it's easily one of the best of season 12 and the series.
