Cutaway gags are common in many cartoons. They are also seen in SpongeBob SquarePants.
Appearances
- In "Procrastination".
- In "Graveyard Shift", Squidward exclaims "Who would eat a Krabby Patty at 3 in the morning?", and it suddenly cuts to Patrick in his bed, with an alarm next to him set for 3:00. The alarm goes off, and he wakes up to eat a Krabby Patty.
- In "Doing Time", there is a cutaway to Incidental 107's life "outside".
- In "Wet Painters", there is a cutaway to Mr. Krabs sipping tea while SpongeBob and Patrick's butts hang over his fire.
- In "Bummer Vacation", there is a cut to Patrick laughing while watching TV, however it turns out to be static.
- In "Truth or Square", there is cutaway to the many times Mr. Krabs let SpongeBob decorate the Krusty Krab.
- In "The Monster Who Came to Bikini Bottom", there is a cutaway to yesterday, in which Incidental 41 tries to tell the workers the Ice Machine is broken. When he gets to SpongeBob, he is distraught. Later, it is solved in the ending, in which Rrarg is able to assist in helping Incidental 41 get his ice.

- In "Lighthouse Louie", SpongeBob questions if the lighthouse is haunted like his toaster, in which there is a cutaway to his house where a piece of Ghost Toast is seen flying towards the camera.
- In "Ride Patrick Ride", there is a cutaway to what actually happened when Patrick went down Dead Man's Hill.
- In "Gary's Playhouse", there is a cutaway to the previous day, in which Mr. Krabs is trying to do everything on his own.
