- This episode originally had the packaging number of 319a, but was swapped with its sister episode for unknown reasons.[2]
- Like many other episodes that have characters from the spin-off series debuting in the main show, this episode marks the first appearance of Captain Doug Quasar in SpongeBob SquarePants, and any other SpongeBob-related entertainment outside of The Patrick Star Show.
